This book provides the first comprehensive, region-wide, long-term, and accessible study of Native Americans in New England. This work is a comprehensive and region-wide synthesis of the history of the indigenous peoples of the northeastern corner of what is now the United States-New England-which includes the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Native Americans of New England takes view of the history of indigenous peoples of the region, reconstructing this past from the earliest available archeological evidence to the present.
